500 word essay (No more than 650) MLA format.

Your topic: You will read Judy Brady's "I Want a Wife" You will then look at American Society as it exists today. I am not interested in the 1940s or any other previous era. I want to know about current society. How does the article you have chosen reflect modern society? Is the article accurate or not? Do you agree or not? Does the article provide a solution to the problem, and if so, is it a good one? I am giving you lots of leeway here. Understand that my main goal is to evaluate how well you write an essay. The topic is not that big of a deal. I want to know if you properly structure the essay (MLA, intro/thesis, body, conclusion, etc.). Do you have good flow? How are the mechanics? Stuff like that.

Now, I do want you to engage your topic and how that article reflects its author's opinion of society. Then I want you to evaluate the author, using your own opinion. Besides the article, I want at least one other credible source used in your essay. So you will have two sources (at least). This additional source can support your position in opposition to the original article, or it might agree with the original. It doesn't really matter. I just want to see that you can effectively find and use sources.

So here are the parameters for quick review:

1. MLA; 500 words (no more than 650).

2. One source from "I want a wife".

3. Evaluate the article and how it addresses modern American society.

4. Provide your own response to the article. Is it right or wrong? Is its solution viable, or is some other solution preferable?

Basically, run wild with it. You can certainly email if you think you need clarification, but I can pretty much say that you can write about whatever you want. As long as you do those things listed above, the topic is fine.
