General Comments:

We have a great text to study and further our mutual understanding of social and cultural foundations of behavior.

These social and cultural behavioral constructs may, perhaps, initially be easily definable and fairly straight forward; however, that would be incorrect as we learned this week from our study readings.  Why?  Again, as our expert authors suggest because we may have a base misunderstanding of what culture and social really means!  Furthermore, as we collect data we may, as researchers inadvertently bias the data and interpretations therewith.

Scenario:

While performing research in a sparsely populated location in the world you and your team of blended scientific specialists are approached by a group of indigenous people who, until this chance meeting, the world subject matter experts had not known existed!

You contact your University Supervisor, as you were operating on a University Grant, to update them on the chance encounter and receive approval to conduct culture, social and psychological investigation and examination of their unique culture and behaviors
