1) What are the reasons for conducting a job analysis?

There are several reasons for conducting a job analysis. According to Heneman III, Judge and Kammeyer-Mueller (2015), job analysis may be defined as the process of studying jobs in order to gather, analyze, synthesize, and report information about job requirements and rewards. A reason for conducting a job analysis is to help design and align a job that will support the organization’s needs (Heneman III, Judge, Kammeyer-Mueller, 2015). When gathering the information of the job analysis, it is important that the job requirements are parallel to the organization’s needs for it to generate results.

2) Evaluate the reasons you chose compared to those chosen by your classmates.

Comparing the reason I chose to those of my classmates are very similar. Agreeing that the importance of conducting a job analysis for a job can help the organization with staffing the right candidate for the position.

3) Which reasons help us prepare a more robust analysis? Why?

A job requirements job analysis helps us prepare more for a more robust analysis because it helps identify the needs for what the jobs specific task will be and the required KSAO’s that candidate must have in order to perform the job(Heneman III, Judge, Kammeyer-Mueller, 2015).
