2. In BA 213, we have been mostly focusing on manufacturing businesses. In chapter 13, we learn about investment decisions by companies in capital items such as buildings, machinery, etc. Often when businesses adapt better sustainability practices either for capital equipment (buildings or machinery) or for decisions involving labor practices, electronic waste, alternative energy, etc. this may involve higher investment costs upfront but achieves far reaching benefits.

Please answer the following two questions that relate to 'Business Sustainability' in two or three paragraphs:

a) What do you understand by the term Global Sustainability Practices?

b) Why is it important for manufacturing businesses? Please cite one actual business and its business practices towards sustainability.
