2) Identify the location of your fictitious film. 1 point

3) How the set reinforces the location has been described. 2 points

4) The properties and how they reinforce the continuity have been described. 2 points

5) The costumes and how they reinforce the continuity have been described. 2 points

6) The music and how it reinforces the continuity has been described. 2 points

In the first sentence identify the time period and location of your fictitious scene. This could reflect any time period and location. One person might choose the Renaissance in England, another might choose the time of World War I in Africa, and yet another could choose some time period from the future on another planet. Just make sure to choose something that will be easy to apply the other parts of this assignment.

In the second sentence explain how the set reinforces the time period and location. How do the places, buildings, the landscape, rooms, etc. reflect the time period and location? Make sure that it is something that is specific to that time period or location. For instance, choosing skyscrapers without any other description would suggest any city. The Eiffel Tower would make it even clearer as to how it reinforces Paris.

In the third sentence discuss how the properties reinforce the time period and location. How are the various objects that reflect the visual aspects of the film? Make sure that it is something that is specific. For instance, choosing sunglasses would be a general application. But, a surf board would make it even more clear as to how it reinforces a beach.

In the fourth sentence discuss how the costumes reinforce the time period and location. How does the clothing reflect the visual aspects of the film? Make sure that it is something that is specific. For instance, choosing a mini-skirt would be a general application. But, a tie-dye shirt would make it even more clear as to how it reinforces the late sixties.

In the last sentence discuss how the music reinforces the the time period and location. How does the music reinforces the visual aspects of the film? Make sure that it is something that is specific. For instance, choosing a classical piece would be a general application. But, music with recorders and harpsichord would make it even more clear as to how it reinforces the Renaissance period.

DO NOT use the examples stated above. Choose your own fictitious scene.

Most common errors:
1) being too general
2) connecting the various aspects to the date that has been identified
3) making the objects apply to that time period as opposed to various time periods
