1. Have you ever been involved in an ethical dilemma? If so, and if you feel comfortable sharing, discuss with us the situation, your role in the situation, and how it was eventually resolved.

2. Why are Codes of Ethics becoming more and more popular with companies? Why are more companies utilizing ethical statements in their mission statements? Look up Mission Statements and/or Codes of Ethics from the following companies: The Association for Computing Machinery, American National Insurance Company, DeVry Inc., Accenture, or the United States Government? What can you gather from these Codes of Ethics?

3. Take one of the following ethical situations: an employee is stealing office supplies; an employee is falsifying financial records; an employee is lying about work completed; a manager is misrepresenting the company to the public; an employee is stealing on the job. What is your reaction? What should we, as managers, do about the situation you chose? Should there be different responses depending on the crime, or should there be the same punishment for every ethical situation?
