State the research hypothesis and decide to conduct one or two-tailed test
Data from the MTF 2006 survey reveal that 71.5% (432 out of 604) of males and 74% (562 out of 756) of females reported trying alcohol. Your wonder whether there is any difference between males and females in the population trying alcohol (this variable does not measure regular use, only if the student had ever tried alcohol). Use a test of the difference between proportions when answering these questions.
What is the research hypothesis? Should you conduct a one- or a two-tailed test? Why?
