The descriptive statistics and one regression model.

Please find the detail of Project. The Data is from UK national survey.

Aim and objectives:

The aim of this work is to assess the association between clinical and subjective perception of orthodontic treatment need among adolescents in England, Wales and Northern Irreland i.e. UK Therefore the research question is:

What is the level of agreement between a normative (clinical) assessment and a self-perception of orthodontic treatment need?

Objectives

• To determine the prevalence of clinical needamong adolescents aged 12 and 15 years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
• To determine the prevalence of subjective need.
• To determine the level of agreement for orthodontic treatment between clinical need and subjective need.
• To determine if the patient-professional needs assessmentconcordance varies by the age, gender, or socio-economic status of the patient in the UK.
• To seeif age, gender, and socio-economic status determine perceived need for orthodontic treatment.

At which factors determine Perceived need for orthodontic treatment

The following variables should be considered in regression model:

- School depravation status
- School type
- Index of multiple deprivation quantileEngland,Wels,NorthernIrland Urban/Rural classification
- Ethnicity
- Parents education
- Parents job/employment status
- Mothers age/ fathers age

And other variables that relates to socio-demographic characteristics of the 12 and 15 year old children and their parents have to be considered. Please try not to miss one. Note my target population is 12 and 15 year olds only.

Variables like:
• Appliance worn
• IOTN aesthetic component
• Positive overjet
• Ortho appliance upper arch/ lower arch
• Number of teeth extracted for ortho reasons
• Wear fixed/removable or other appliance
• Any unmet ortho treatment need
• Good overall oral health
• Dental health
• General health
• Difficulty smiling/ laughing, showing teeth in the last 3 month

And other ortho related variables should be examined

• Draw a table that would describe all variables that relates to orthodontic treatment need.
• Then to make statistical analyses to see the agreement between the PN and NN
• Table showing the variation of agreement by gender, age, parents' education, school type...
• Lastly to model a logistic regression to find which variable determine PN for orthodontic treatment (School depravation status, School type, Index of multiple deprivation quantile Urban/Rural classification, Ethnicity, Parents education, Parents job/employment status, Mothers age/ fathers age)

How would you analyze the agreement between PN and NN?
