The bruce treadmill test is employed to assess exerics capacity in children and adults. Cumming, Everatt and hastman (1978) studied distribution of bruce tread mill test endurance times in normal children. The mean endurance time for the sample of 36 girls 4-5 years old was 9.5 minutes with the standard deviation of 1.86 minutes. If we suppose that these are the true population mean and standard deviation and if we also suppose that the endurance times follow the normal distribution, Find out the probability of observing a 4 year old girl with the endurance of less than 7 minutes? The 36 values shown here are based upon summary statistics from the research by cumming. Do you believe that these data are normally distributed? Describe your answer.
