To find out whether or not they have certain desease, 110 people are to have their blood tested. Though, rather than testing each individual separately, it has been made decision first to group people in groups of 10. Blood samples of 10 people in each group will be pooled and analyzed together. If test is negative. one test will suffice for 10 people (we are suppose that pooled test will be positive if and only if at least one person in pool has desease); while, if test is positive each of 10 people will also be individually tested and, in all, 11 tests will be made on this group. Suppose probability that person has desease is 0.06 for all people, independently of each other, and calculate expected number of tests essential for each group.
