Statistics Submittal-

The objective of this Submittal is to examine the relationships with students' grades in CENE 253L Mechanics of Materials Laboratory.

To accomplish this goal, perform the following operations on the attached Excel data:

  • Calculate the average Quiz Score [i.e. (points earned)/(points available)] for each student
  • Calculate the average Lab Report Score [i.e. (points earned)/(points available)] for each student
  • Calculate the average Class Quiz Score [i.e. (points earned)/(points available)] for each student
  • Calculate the Cumulative Average for each student based on the following weighted scale: [10% Class Quiz, 20% Quiz, 70% Lab Reports]
  • Calculate the Maximum Quiz Ave., Lab Report Ave., Class Quiz Ave., and Cumulative Ave. for all students.
  • Calculate the Mean Quiz Ave., Lab Report Ave., Class Quiz Ave., and Cumulative Ave. for all students
  • Calculate the Median Quiz Ave., Lab Report Ave., Class Quiz Ave., and Cumulative Ave. for all students.
  • Calculate the Standard Deviation Quiz Ave., Lab Report Ave., Class Quiz Ave., and Cumulative Ave. for all students
  • Create three separate x-y scatter plots in Excel: 1) Quiz Ave. versus Cumulative Ave.; 2) Lab Report Ave. versus Cumulative Ave.; and 3) Class Quiz Average versus Cumulative Average
  • For the three plots, add a linear trendline. Display the equation and R2 value on the chart.
  • Complete the "Statistics Deliverable" and submit via the "Lab Submittals" icon in BBLearn.
