Writing Assignment Explained

Option Number One:

Please submit a 5 page paper based on your experience at the Houston Branch of the Dallas Fed. :

Send a message to me from inside of the course. I will respond and send you a copy of the power point that Susan used in her lecture at the Fed. You may use your textbook as the other source for your writing and you may use the publications that you picked up at the Fed. You may also quote James Colunga, the person who gave you the tour. I'm very interested your impression of the Federal Reserve, Houston Branch, also how your understanding of the Fed's operation within the economy changed after your visit.

Please cite your sources as you write your paper. Your paper will be also graded based on your use of MLA style. Feel free to consult the accompanying link to learn more about MLA.

Option Number Two:

Please submit a 6 to 10 page paper based on one of these two assignments:

1. "Does the U. S. need the Federal Reserve? Why? or Why not?" Fully justify your answer.

2. Based on the movie "Trading Places" starring Dan Akroyd and Eddie Murphy, please explain the details of how the characters in the movie made money by buying and selling "futures contracts" on the commodities market.
