SCENARIO

Williams is the president of Big Food Corporation (BFC), a large wholesale grocery company that is incorporated. During a routine inspection, Smith, a government inspector, discovers numerous unsanitary conditions in one of BFC's warehouses. The conditions were caused by Jones, a BFC employee. Thomson, the BFC vice president responsible for distribution, met with Smith and assured him that BFC was unaware of the situation, but now that this issue had been brought to management's attention, all unsanitary conditions and practices would be corrected immediately. Smith gave BFC one week to take all corrective actions necessary to fix the sanitation issues. However, when Smith returned one week later to confirm that the problems had been remedied, he discovered that nothing had been done - and now the conditions had become worse.
