Question 1: What would be the advantages and disadvantages of leasing assets instead of owning them? How would the financial statements be different in a leasing situation (for both operating leases and capital leases) for the lessee? Please let me know if you have any questions?

Question 2: Now why is it important from an accounting perspective to classify a lease into operating or capital lease? What is the criteria to classify the lease into operating and capital lease? Do you think the lessee tends to prefer an operating lease or a capital lease? Why? Please let me know if you have any questions.

Question 3: What if one person's right to practice religion conflicts with another person's right to be free from the influence of religious practice? What are some practical rules that can be set regarding religious observations in the workplace? How can we accommodate religious practices that require certain time off, religious garb, or even facial hair?

Question 4: I would suspect that there are a number of individuals that agree and believe that the workplace should be free of any attempt to proselytize and convert someone to their religion. However, there may be others who would appreciate a little more "spirituality" in the workplace regardless of one's religion. How could there be more spirituality in the workplace without offending anyone's particular practice of religion?

Question 5: Baby boomers typically possess more work experience and are older than the next generation. Does an employer have the right to refuse to hire candidates who are overqualified, such as baby boomers? Substantiate your response.

Question 6: Individuals who reach retirement age are continuing to work longer and with "graying" of America there are an increasing number of older workers who have retired and are deciding to return to the workforce due to economic conditions. This potentially will present an increasing interest by employers in ensuring that they are accommodating and in compliance with the ADEA. See the attached article which is a little dated is important as there is even a larger number of employees today working beyond their eligibility for retirement for a number of reasons. Comments?
