Last fall, a sample of n = 36 freshman was chosen to participate in the new 4-hour training program designed to improve study skills. To estimate effectiveness of the new program, sample was compared with rest of freshman class. All freshman should take same English Language Skills course, and mean score on the final exam for entire freshman class was µ = 74. Students in new program had mean score of M = 79.4 with standard deviation of s = 18.

b. Can college conclude that students in new program are significantly different than rest of the freshman class? Use a two-tailed test with α = .05
