Read the following Student Materials provided for this assignment: "Social Media and Blogging: What's Your Policy?"

and "Mitigating Legal Risks of Using Social Media".

Imagine that you and the other members of your learning team are in charge of the social media department for XYZ Corp. As part of XYZ's presence on social media, they have a company page on a popular social networking platform, as well as other accounts that allow them to share photos, videos and statements with their online "followers", many of whom include XYZ employees, vendors and customers. Many XYZ employees also have their own personal social media accounts, some of whom identify themselves as XYZ employees as part of their online profiles.

XYZ's company posts often include details about XYZ's new or upcoming products; articles written by XYZ staff members on industry topics; conceptual design details for XYZ's new projects; and posts by employees about exciting new clients or projects they are working on. Likewise, some employees have also been enthusiastically sharing XYZ-related information on their own personal social media account pages.

Recently, the CEO of XYZ Corp. has become concerned about the protection of XYZ's intellectual property and privacy due to all of the company information that is being shared online, as well as protection of client information. The CEO is also concerned because an employee recently posted inappropriate photos of himself in a drunken state on his personal social media account, immediately above a post about his attendance at a trade show on behalf of XYZ.

Draft at least three recommended company-wide policies that would be included within the employee handbook to help reduce XYZ's legal risk, reduce harm to XYZ's reputation, and ensure that its intellectual property is not being improperly shared on social media sites. Be sure to explain why you are recommending each policy. (INSTAGRAM)
