Multicentre study: The clinical trial conducted simultaneously in the number of participating hospitals, with all centres following an agreed-upon study of the protocol and with independent random allocation within each of the centre. The benefits of such type of study involve the ability to generalize the results to the wider variety of patients and treatment settings than would be possible with the study conducted in a single centre, and the ability to enrol into study more patients than a single centre could give.
