Each student will be asked to submit a paper researching accounting fraud since Enron.

The analysis must be a minimum of FIVE PAGES (exclusive of title page, illustrations, charts, tables, and works cited). MLA format is a requirement.

The purpose of this assignment is for you to research accounting fraud since Enron and the financial crisis and whether or not it has decreased.

You must support either the increase/decrease of accounting fraud with research and provide solutions for decreasing accounting fraud in business.

This analysis paper will be evaluated using the following criteria:

(1) Ability to focus the reader's attention on the subject of the research paper in a thorough paragraph which effectively leads into the thesis statement;

(2) Ability to thoroughly support or explain the thesis or build to a logical conclusion in a series of interesting paragraphs, fully developed with facts, examples, reasons, narration, description, comparison, cause and effect, analysis, or other appropriate methods;

(3) Ability to arrange ideas in a logical order; use transitions and other cohesive devices to link ideas effectively within and between paragraphs;

(4) Ability to logically complete the development of the thesis or build to the main point of the paper;

(5) Inclusion of a formal outline that reflects the structure and content of the paper;

(6) Ability to research the subject thoroughly and balance the use of sources as well as effectively introduce and cite sources used

(7) Length of the research paper. In addition, the research paper will be evaluated based upon the ability to effectively write sentences, which includes: sentence structure, grammar and usage, spelling and capitalization and punctuation.
