The real-world situation or problem you selected to address, the independent and dependent variables you would study and the number of levels of the independent variable, the statistical null and alternative hypotheses, a description of what information the effect size would tell you that the probability value would not tell you, describe what additional information confidence intervals around means (or around mean differences) would give your reader; describe when would you need to report a post hoc test and why; and using realistic numbers for values of degrees of freedom, sample size, F-ratio, confidence interval (s) (if appropriate), and post hoc results (if appropriate), report hypothetical results in a few sentences using correct APA format.

My ex: The real world situation I would like to do research on is whether there is a significant difference in weight among teen males from low, middle and high class. I would use a random sample of 30 males in New York City. The average weight of the samples from the three classes was 200 pounds, 180 pounds and 160 pounds. The independent variable in my study would be the three different economic classes and the dependent variable is the average weight of the males. The statistical null hypothesis is that there is no significant difference of weight among the three economic classes. The alternate hypothesis is that there is a significant difference in weight among the classes.

With a sample size of N = 30, and an alpha level = .05
DFb=2, Dfw=9 and Dft=11 df= 2, 9

The results of this research would be: F(2,9)=4.10, p<.05. I concluded that there is a significant different in males weight and the economic class they fall in.

problem:

Since you have a significant effect you would need to run post-hocs here. Please determine the appropriate post-hoc for this situation and report the results in proper APA format. Also, can you describe the different types of information provided by p-value and confidence intervals?
