1) Replicate Table 1 in the paper "The effect of digoxin on mortality and morbidity in patients with heart failure". In case there are missing values, create a similar table, displaying the the frequency of missing observations and not including the frequency of missing values when computing the total frequencies and percentages. The variable names and description can be found in the Digitalis Investigation Group (DIG) Data Documentation.

3) Create similar tables (percentages or means and standard deviations as appropriate) by treatment group for the following variables. As in 1), if there are missing values for any variable, create a similar table, displaying the the frequency of missing observations and not including the frequency of missing values when computing the total frequencies and percentages.

• Age greater than 50 years
• BMI (Calculated Body Mass Index)
• Systolic BP (mmHg) greater than 120
• Diastolic BP (mmHg) greater than 70
• NYHA, categorized as :

- class I and II
- class III and IV

• Hydralazine
• Other vasodilators
• History of hypertension
• Pulmonary congestion, grouped in three categories:

- 0

- 1
- greater or equal to 2

• Limitation of activity, grouped in three categories:

- 0
- 1
- greater than or equal to 2

• Dyspnea at rest, grouped in three categories:

- 0
- 1
- greater than or equal to 2

• Dyspnea on exertion, grouped in three categories:

- 0
- 1
- greater than or equal to 2

4) Identify the primary and secondary endpoints in the main trial. Was there any surrogate endpoint used? Was there any composite endpoint (combination of outcomes) used?

5) Overall quality presentation of your tables. The tables can be produced in latex (preferred) or as a Word document.

Notes: Any software you are most familiar with (including SAS or R) can be used to produce the tables. However, the code used must be included as an appendix after the tables, otherwise no points will be given.
