1. Problem Statement:  Doctor Visit Analysis, data provided on 20 patients for Age, Wait time and Satisfaction.  Raw data is found in the Microsoft Excel file titled "STA322 Week 2 Data-Problem 1."

Analysis of Statement:  Discuss/Demonstrate how you will use the data to analyze (must find each of the following for all 2 out of the 3 data sets: age, wait time and satisfaction).

  • What is the mean?
  • What is the median?
  • What is the mode?
  • What is the standard deviation?
  • Create a Bar Graph for each of the 2 out of the 3 questions. What type of skewness is present, if any?
  • Are there any outliers? If so, what are the outliers? Do you believe they were typos?
  • What is the range and midrange?
  • Calculate the variance and coefficient of variation?
  • Calculate 2 of the following 3 zscores for age of 30, wait time of 15 min, satisfaction of 4.
  • Discuss the data analysis and what you can determine from the data. If you were the office manager, are there areas you should improve? Draw conclusions from the data.

2. Graph the measurements: found in "STA322 Week 2 Data - Tab Problem 2" There will be a bar chart on the ages, a pie chart on pizza toppings (5 points) and a line chart on temperatures. 

3. Standard Normal Distribution: Assume the measurements given, have a mean of 0 and a standard deviation of 1.  Find the probability of the reading.

a. Less than 2.16

b. Greater than 1.66

c. Between 1.2 and 1.9

d. Greater than 2.44

4. Standard Normal Distribution: Find the area, if there is a mean of 40 and a standard deviation of 5, for the following scenarios.

a. Greater than 30

b. Less than 60

c. Between 35 and 50
