As mentioned previously, this course is going to be a little different from all your other courses in that your SLP assignments will be directly tied to your case assignments, and your case assignments will tie into one another. For the module case assignments, you will be writing different sections of a comprehensive paper that culminates your study of the Criminal Justice Administration concentration.
For this first module, in a 2-3 page paper, I want you to write the first section of your paper, the introduction. In this paper, I want you to focus on the key issues in criminal justice administration by answering the questions below. I want you to cite a minimum of three different sources supporting your position.
- What, in your opinion, are the key issues in CJA today?
- Prioritize these issues in relation to importance and provide justification for your prioritization?
- What affect are these issues having on the criminal justice profession?
- Write a well written paper identifying and explaining key issues in CJA, support your position and cite your sources appropriately.
- As a capstone course, this course's SLP project is different from other course SLP projects in that it ties in directly to the case assignment.
For this module's SLP, I want you to find three articles that discuss current issues in criminal justice administration to help you develop your case assignment paper. There are three general areas of criminal justice administration: enforcement, judiciary, and custodial; ideally you should find one article for each area of criminal justice administration that discusses current issues in that area. For your SLP assignment, in a 1-2 page paper, provide the following information on the articles you found:
- Title of article
- Author of article
- Publisher and date of publication
- A short summary of the article.
