Early contingency-based studies examined the leader, employees, and organization to suggest that, based on the situation, one would apply one set of leadership traits more than others to address the existing variables (leader, employee, organization).

4. Elaborate: "The theory explained how management decisions should be different within every scenario. The reason being is because the environment has to be examined and internal factors have to be considered (Buono, 2008).
