1.  Download the Excel file "Muni Data.xlsx".

This file contains data from 19 Allegheny County, Pennsylvania municipalities from the 1990 Census. There are 3 variables in the data set:

• Median Income = median household income of the municipality in 1990 (current) dollars
• Home Value = median value of owner-occupied housing units in the municipality in 1990 dollars
• Population Density = population density of the municipality in people per square mile

a. a priori,do you expect there to be any relationship between any of these variables? If so explain.

b. Create 3 pair-wise scatter plots of this data (income-Home Value, Income-Density, Home Value-Density). Do these plots align with your answer to (a)? Explain.

c. Create a bubble chart of this data, with Home Value on the vertical axis, Population Density on the horizontal axis, and Median Income represented by the size of the bubble. Label completely and consider effective design and usability in the creation of your graphic. Write a short paragraph describing the graphic (like what might be found as a caption for this graphic if used in a report).

d. How effective is your graphic at illustrating any relationships that exist in this data? Explain.
