1)  Construct a two member sample from the population {1, 3, 5, 7} without replacement, and make a probability sampling distribution of the mean. Compute the mean and SD of the probability of the mean.

2)  There is a large supply of halogen light bulbs with the average life of 800 hours and the SD of 80 hours.  A random sample of 64 light bulbs is drawn; find the probability that the sample average is more than 830 hours.

3)  Approximate the area under the t- curve, with degrees of freedom = 2, between t= -1.886 and 1.886.

4) If a random sample of 100 people is selected from the adult population of a big city, what is the probability that less than 20% sample favor the new property tax rates if the true proportion favoring the new rates for the entire population is 19%.  Show normal approximation.

5) The SD of a random sample of size 125 from a large population is 3.7 Give an estimate of the maximum error for estimating u with 61% confidence.

6) In a random sample of 160 customers, 70 ordered chicken sandwiches. Construct a 93% confidence interval for the true proportion of customers who buy chicken sandwiches for lunch. Show normal approximation and interpolation if applicable.

7) Prof Baleddalian claims that the average IQ of college students is at most 105. In a study conducted to test this claim, 150 students were selected at random, had an average IQ of 106.3 with a standard deviation of 8.2.  Use a level of significance of 0 .02 to test the claim.

8) A Die is thrown 48252 times and of these, 24345 yielded either 2 or 3 or 5, is this consistent with the hypothesis that the die must be unbiased. Show the following,  Hypothesis, Graph the region, Label critical value, Determine the test statistic, give conclusion.

9) To test whether boy and girls perform equally well on math exams, a standardized math test was given to 60 boys and 70 girls at Koda Kala Middle School.  The boys made an average score of 73 with a SD of 5, while the girls made an average score of 75 and a SD of 7. Test the hypothesis at a .05 Confidence level. Show The Hypothesis, Graph the region, Label the critical value, determine the test statistic, and give a conclusion. USE F TEST method
