The Differences Between People's Wages

The most important factors that can be used to account for the difference between people's salary include human capital/acquired-skills, job conditions, mobility, regulations, market structure, and discrimination. They are the most important criteria because they contribute to a difference people's wages to a great extent. They help to explain wage differences within occupations, across states, and between men and women. Therefore, the wage differences between people are caused by several factors and not a single factor only.

Acquired skills contribute to the wage differences because the most employers consider what employees can accomplish as the basis for their payments. For example, a skilled accountants with a degree in accounting from Harvard University will earn more than amateur accountants from the same university. This supports that their abilities and skills brought their experiences, which leads to employers concentrate on the number of years to employees has worked as an indicator of his or her skill level and productivity. Therefore, employees with in- demand skills and experience earn more than employees working in the same occupation but lack of experiences and skills. The market structure also plays a significant role for explaining the wage differences with occupations. Employers' success, corporate culture, clientele, and market dominance influence on how employers pay their employees. Job conditions can also determine the wage paid to employees. Works in the same occupation can have different wages if they have different jobs and descriptions. Employees with their greater responsibilities normally have a salary than employees with lower responsibility and whose jobs are not

complicated. Not only Job conditions and among other factors but also racial discrimination contributes to wage difference with Asian and Native Americans earning more than Hispanics and African - Americans. According to the figures, the lowest paid fast cooks in state earn money $17,100 and lowest paid lawyers in state earn money $69,770 annually. However, there are the significant differences between the lowest paid cook and the lowest paid lawyer on $52,670. On the other hand, the highest paid cook's average income is about $20,990 to $23,890 per year but the highest paid lawyer income is more than about 6 to 7 times of those cook. This evidence strongly emphasizes on people who have the highest income mastered specialized skills and learned knowledge comparing among other cooks.

There are several factors that strongly impact on the cooks' amount of wages across various states: their locations, laws, and live styles. For instance, there are specific states where cooks have the highest income per year among other states such as Washington, Oregon, and California. In contrast, Los Angeles, Arizona, and Oklahoma are the places where cooks have the lowest average income per year among other states. There is an extraneous factor for wage differences between the highest average income and the lowest average income states: location. Cooks who have the highest average income states located at the border the sea, and attraction place whereas cooks who have the lowest average income states located in the interior of the states. There are not only wage differences for cooks but also lawyers. According to "the annual mean wage of lawyers, by state, May 2015", there are significant differences on the lowest wage income between the highest wage incomes. These incomes are based on the criminal rates, discriminations, economics, and others. There are several evidences supporting this statement.

First, Texas is the place where lots of event happening such as gun-shot, threatening, and drugs. Therefore, people are hiring lots of lawyers based on this fact comparing among other states.

Second, Georgia is place where many African American settled down. Thus, Georgia is the number one states that lots of gun-shot happened due to discrimination. There are still many "white" people who are against to black people. Consequences of this, people are protesting to the governments which leading to hire lawyers for justify their rights. Third, New York is one of the biggest development states among other countries but there are lots of people who are sitting on the streets; the great depression back in the past. Therefore, many people started to protest and complaint to government for their economic status. This causation has been strongly related to hire the lawyers which influencing of their income. On the other hand, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, New Dakota, and Arkansas are the place where lawyer have the lowest income compare to among other states. Mobility also affects the wage paid across states and therefore workers in the same occupation but in different states may have different wages because of the variance in cost of living.

Discrimination causes the wage differences within occupations. Among comparing the statistical inference of different gender incomes, women's income has lower than men's. For example, one dollar earned by a male employee, a woman earns an average of $ 0.78. Women's education does not assist in explaining the differences because women complete and graduate from colleges at a higher rate than men. The wage differences between men and females can be explained regarding work experience since a woman's professional experience is abbreviated whenever she takes a maternity leave or when she take time off to take care of her children.

Since family responsibilities are not shared equally, women end up having more job breaks than men, and they end up working part-time. The gender gap regarding wage varies across states, and it is worse among women of color. The wage gap apart from discrimination can be caused by differences in job description held by men and women, education choices, preferred industry and the type of job women go to as opposed to men. The length of work hours in a week breaks in employment and work experience also influences the wage gap between men and women.

Jobs that are predominantly done by female employees pay less than jobs predominantly done by male workers.

The wage differences between people is cause caused by several factors. The most important factors that can explain difference between people's wage include human capital/acquired-skills, job conditions, mobility, regulations, market structure, and discrimination. They also help to explain the wage differences within occupations, across states, and between men and women. The wage differences within occupation is caused by job conditions, discrimination, acquired skills among others. Across states, it is caused by mobility, discrimination, and legislation while between men and women it is caused by discrimination.
