The animation preserve the spirit of the epic, by briefly explaining the history of Gilgamesh, but it lacks in some many ways by not showing the history of the Western tradition.

1. The animation does not show how Western tradition that refer to the Hebrew Bible that shows Gilgamesh and his kingdom as being the early human society or how the city of Uruk was concerned the Holy city and was chosen and protected by the Babylonia Gods. 

2. The animation does show how Enkidu was sexually seduced by Shamhat who persuades him to come to live in the city, but does not show how the goddess of creation, Aruru, created a mighty wild-man named Enkidu. 

 and why Enkidu was created and how he was a powerful warrior. 

3. The animation shows the travel of Gilgamesh seeking the secret of eternal life and fails at the opportunity to obtain immortality, but do not show how great of a King Gilgamesh was, and how the  people of Uruk mourn his passing, knowing that they will never see or have a great King like Gilgamesh again.
