Systems theory proposes open interaction between organizations and their environments. In doing so firms engage in external business development activities, often referred to as external corporate venturing, in addition to developing their own absorptive capacity. External modeling has been on the increase due to globalization and is predicted to continue on a large scale.

Using the required readings and those of your own, describe how this process strengthens or weakens your organization or your rival's subsystems. In your paper, be sure to compare and contrast the modeling tools for joint and rapid applications development. Provide specific examples where appropriate for your systems project.

Support your paper with a minimum of five (5) scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.

Length: 5-7 pages not including title and reference pages

Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. Be sure to adhere to Northcentral University's Academic Integrity Policy.
