I think a valuable resource for entrepreneurs would be Google. Google can provide almost limitless information about anything an entrepreneur may need. Such as locating material, statics on anything, vendors, and products that could be similar to their own. It could also be useful to find any legal documents or processes that may be required for a new business or product.

Another resource that can be utilized could be contacting other business owners and entrepreneurs. They could be useful in providing advice and information from personal experiences or recommend different resources for you to use in your pursuit.

One action entrepreneurs can take to be more innovative would be to observe a common problem and solve it by using a new process or come up with a simpler or innovative way or idea to solve it.

Another action would be to build a completely new business that is innovative with a completely new product.
