Essay Questions for OMGT
Below are the questions from which you may select. Three questions are from the Baldrige Criteria and three are from the AS9100 Field book and handouts. Select two questions from each category to answer. Successful responses should be a synthesis of your learning from this course and should be no less than 350 words each. Be sure to format your paper properly and cite sources you use (see the Academic Resources link).
1. Cessna teams with Shenyang Aircraft Corporation. In regard to this partnership, write about why you feel AS9100 is important to the light aircraft owner/operator. Research the link below and others you find relative to this partnership for more information

2. Select one Baldrige Case Study (below). What is your impression of the organization in your case study? Do you think they achieved greater status from their achievement?

3. How can Baldrige Criteria Help an Organization's Human Resource department become more effective? Refer to Section 5 of the Criteria Booklet for inspiration.
• Category 5: Workforce Focus (revised title). This Category has been totally redesigned with two Items.
• Item 5.1, now Workforce Engagement, has three Areas to Address:
• Workforce Enrichment, (2) Workforce and Leader Development, and (3) Assessment of Workforce Engagement.
• Item 5.2, now Workforce Environment, has two Areas to Address:
• Workforce Capability and Capacity and (2) Workforce Climate.
4. Society of Automotive Engineers - Write about the background of AS9100. Why did that aerospace standard fall under the umbrella of the Society of Automotive Engineers. See article in Faculty & Course Info > Course Resources and others you locate.
5. Beginning on page 129 of "A Practical Field Guide for AS9100" is a series of field anecdotes. Select one you find particularly interesting and write about why it is of interest to you. Did you learn anything from the anecdote or did it reinforce something you already knew.
6. In Faculty & Course Info > Course Resources you will find a link to a Baldrige Survey titled "Are We Making Progress as an Organization." Look over the survey and apply your opinions to the survey questions. Write about whether or not you feel your organization is making progress.
