Interpersonal skills are vital for most managers, it is important they try to increase the skill set to be effective and productive. There are several improvement opportunities available for individuals who struggle with this area. However, I have found interpersonal skills are typically something that is inherent to a person and highly associated with personality. Do you feel organizations should hire for this skill set or take the chance the manager's other abilities will make up for a lack of interpersonal skills?
