  1. You are to write a 2 to 4 page paper following APA rules for the title page, citations and appropriate references within the body of the paper. The minimum number of content pages is 2 and the maximum is 4 for the two issues noted in "a" and "b" below.

Hrung, W. B. (2007). Determinants of the Choice between Roth and Deductible IRAs. Journal Of The American Taxation Association29(1), 27-42.

  1. Your paper is to address the following:
    1. Compare and contrast deductible IRAs and Roth IRAs. You must cite your source for this discussion. Consider accessing the www.irs.gov website for relevant publications. You should include information on the amount that can be deposited to these investments. Note any income limits that preclude investing in these savings devices. At what age must the investor begin withdrawing an amount from the traditional IRA? Why are they not required to withdraw from the Roth IRA?
    2. Review the research article noted above. Describe the author's hypothesis. According to the author's research and conclusion, what influences an investor to use Roth rather than the deductible (traditional) IRA? Evaluate and comment on the author's research method. Based on the author's analysis do you agree or disagree with the conclusions?
  2. Go to www.irs.gov and search for Publication 590. Copy Table I-2 to a page following your reference page and include a citation of the source.
