This is a team discussion on “Decision Making, Factors and Role of Metrics.” I posted three articles titled "Decision Making Consumers", “Pricing” and “Managing Customer Value Metrics” for this team discussion under Week 3 module. These three articles focus on various issues ranging from consumer point of view to strategy and how to evaluate/maintain performance from company’s perspective. After reading these articles, start your discussion among your team members. Focus on: What does influence consumer decision making? What is the role of price in consumer decision making? What is the role of metrics in company’s performance? How can companies use metrics to improve their performance? Discuss the linkage among consumer decision making, marketing strategy and using metrics. As you discuss these questions, make sure to provide examples from the articles as well as outside sources.

This discussion assignment is due on Friday, June 3rd, 2016, 5pm (central time). This assignment is worth of 25 points.

I would recommend starting with posting a comment on one specific point. Then, this would lead to more elaborated and enhanced discussion. Any of the team members can start the discussion once it is available. If your team members do not post comments, please continue to follow the discussion and posting comments.

The criteria for grading the discussions will be as follows. Your postings will be evaluated based on four dimensions. These four dimensions include: quality of your discussions, quantity of your discussions, the timing of your postings, and whether the participant followed the instructions. Below provides more specific information regarding to each category.

Quality: This focuses on the substance of your postings and most weighted element in evaluating the discussions. It requires contributing more than posting “I agree”, “Yes”, “No”. You should present your rationale, reasoning, facts from the article, video etc., Furthermore, it is also important to pose questions and relate to your experiences and to the course material (if applicable). In general, these postings should enhance the discussion and have your team members think and/or learn.

Quantity: This refers to the number of postings. You are expected to post at least three postings per team discussion topic.

Timing: Your discussions should be on a timely manner. This allows the other team members to get a chance to reply and be able to build upon the points raised in your postings.

Directions: This refers to following the directions. In other words, if the discussion topic states to elaborate the advantages or disadvantages of the identified topic, that is what I will be looking for.
