This assignment should meet the following learning outcomes:

Individuals to write a report consisting of 2000 words weighted at 100% of the overall module.

1. Introduction (Definition of Business Project Management, Project Life cycle 4 D's and Overview of Case Study).

2. Evaluate the application of the concepts of business project management pertaining to the case study.

3. Assuming that you are the project manager of Turner and Townsend (T&T) Explain the concepts of time management plan. cost management and discuss the following project plan documents for the case study. You can make assumptions in order to develop your answers.
a. Matrix Chart & Gantt chart
b. Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
c. Payback period
d. Quality management plan
e. Communication plan
f. Risk management plan

Note: At least 10 references should be given as per the Harvard Referencing System.

The Case Study

Brighouse and Sowerby Bridge Pool and Fitness Centre, Turner & Townsend Overview

The towns of Brighouse and Sowerby Bridge have benefited from public swimming pools since 1913 and 1878, but both facilities desperately needed replacing - Brighouse closed in 2006 and Sowerby Bridge was well beyond its natural and operational life. Calderdale Council therefore initiated a project to build new facilities serving each of the towns, using funds secured from the sale of Leeds/Bradford airport, of which Calderdale had been co-owner, in 2007. This amounted to £6.5m.

However, soon after the appointment of Turner & Townsend, and following detailed public consultation the project team quickly identified that the funds were insufficient to achieve the requirements and therefore further funding was required. Turner & Townsend and the team assisted the council with the development of a business case, which was successful in securing an extra £4.5m.

The new overall budget of £11 million enabled Turner & Townsend, working in partnership with the council, design team, main contractor and a range of stakeholders from the local community, to successfully deliver two excellent new facilities.
