Summary:

A key outcome of this course is that students be able to select suitable methods of acquiring data as well as analyze and present researched data effectively. With this in mind, students are challenged to individually examine an international business failure and define clear research objectives that, if answered, may have prevented that failure. Students will present their findings in an annotated bibliography. This project is worth 15% of your course grade.

Topic Starbucks failure in Australia

Bibliography (5%) Printed (hardcopy) due at beginning of class AND Uploaded to digital dropbox prior to class. Include the grading rubric with your hardcopy.

Final Draft (10%) Printed (hardcopy) due at beginning of class AND Uploaded to digitaldropbox prior to class. Include the grading rubric with your hardcopy.

Late work will be penalized 10% per day. Failure to turn in work will result in a zero (0).

Plagiarized work will receive a zero and be submitted to the School of Business for Breach of Academic Honesty.

Process:

2. Complete the required research. You should have a minimum of 7 sources. Sources must include:
• 3 business journal articles
• 2 government source
• 2 reputable news sources
3. Compile your resources. Write you bibliography, be sure to use proper APA citation format.

4. Complete final report.

Additional Details:

1. Annotated Bibliography

- Use the template available. Ensure that each of your annotations has three sections: summary, analysis, application. Remember to properly cite your sources using APA format.

2. Research Objectives

- Define three clear and specific research objectives that the company should have undertaken prior to business failure. These objectives should link directly to the business you have chosen and be specific. They should reflect your analysis of the research failure that occurred. Generic objectives will result in lower marks.

Final Report Requirements:
• 7 References (2-3 paragraph annotation per reference)
• APA Formatting(for citations and referencing as well as overall organization)
• Correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, flow of thought, clarity of ideas and creativity
