Articles by Mitra et al. (2017) and Kuruppu et al. (2015) both investigated Internet financial reporting in their respective countries.

a. Both papers provide lists, which show the percentage of companies that make different types of disclosures. Along with providing percentages, the Sri Lankan study also provides some statistical tests (table 3, panel B, P. 81). Explain the extra information available to the reader due to the statistical tests documented in table 3.

b. One study uses a sample, the other study considered the entire population. What are the advantages and disadvantages these two approaches?

c. Considering your answer to b. above, explain which approach is more appropriate given the purposes of the studies?

a. Briefly describe the assumptions of traditional (positive) agency theory.

e. Consider one assumption of agency theory and explain how it has been challenged, citing at least one academic paper.

f. Discuss two alternative theories to agency theory and explain the deficiencies in agency theory that the alternative theories attempt to overcome.

g. How have views of stewardship and the reporting that is required for stewardship changed over time?
