Renewables programs and residential electricity prices.

First, download the most recent version of the International Energy Agency document "IEA Electricity Information" by logging into the University of Toronto Library system. To give some context to the assignment, Figure 1 below illustrates market shares for renewables in several countries. Figure 2 illustrates residential electricity prices.

The objective of this assignment is to examine market shares of renewables alongside residential electricity prices. Your tasks are as follows.

1. Select five countries that have significant renewable energy programs, other than the ones above. Your selection of countries is part of your research problem. (I will not provide suggestions.)

2. For the countries that you select recreate Figures 1 and 2.

3. For each country, prepare a brief summary of their renewable energy program (each description should be approximately 200 words). Your discussion should provide your views on the strengths and weaknesses of the program.
