The stock sells for $48, and flotation expenses of 5% of the selling price will be incurred on new shares. What is the cost of new common stock?

3. XYZ Inc. will issue new common stock to finance an expansion. The existing common stock just paid a $2.50 dividend, and dividends are expected to grow at a constant rate of 6% indefinitely. The stock sells for $32, and flotation expenses of 6% of the selling price will be incurred on new shares. What is the cost of internal equity?

4. Haroldson Inc. common stock is selling for $22 per share. The last dividend was $1.20, and dividends are expected to grow at a 6% annual rate. Flotation costs on new stock sales are 5% of the selling price. What is the cost of Haroldson Inc.'s new common stock?

5. Kokapeli, Inc. has a target capital structure of 40% debt and 60% common equity, and has a 40% marginal tax rate. If the firm's yield to maturity on bonds is 8.5% and investors require a 12% return on the firm's common stock, what is the firm's WACC?

6. Jiffy Co. expects to pay a dividend of $3.50 per share in one year. The current price of Jiffy common stock is $56 per share. Flotation costs are $4.00 per share when Jiffy issues new stock. What is the cost of internal common equity if the long-term growth in dividends is projected to be 8.5 percent indefinitely?

7. APR Company's preferred stock is currently selling for $24.00, and pays a perpetual annual dividend of $2.80 per share. New issue of preferred stock would have $4 per share in flotation costs. The firm's tax rate is 40%. Compute the cost of new preferred stock.

8. ABC Corp. is undergoing a major expansion. The expansion will be financed by issuing new 12-year, $1,000 par, 9.5% annual coupon bonds. The market price of the bonds is $1,125 each. Flotation expense on the new bonds will be $50 per bond. The marginal tax rate is 35%. What is the pre-tax cost of debt for the newly-issued bonds?

9. New Jet Airlines plans to issue 16-year bonds with a par value of $1,000 that will pay $40 every six months. The bonds have a market price of $1,340. Flotation costs on new debt will be 7%. If the firm has a 35% marginal tax bracket, what is cost of existing debt?
