As it relates to counter-terrorism negatively affecting our rights as citizens, it is in place to protect us, not to intentionally take away from our freedom of speech or cause an inconvenience to us. Meaning, yes there is an inconvenience when flying commercial flights yet if we did not learn from 9/11 then at what cost were the lives taken if we do not learn from the situation? The inconvenience of extra security has helped deter terrorist and oblivious citizens from taking prohibited items onto an airplane, whether intentional or accidental. America has never had much issue in voicing concerns and continue to have demonstrations and walks to promote what is believed in, regardless if their neighbor disagrees, respecting the individual for who they are should be ingrained into our country's culture. If we as a nation promote positive growth and avoid or react appropriately to those that stir up trouble the counter-terrorism efforts would strengthen.
