Assignment: Reflective Journal Entry-Fine-Tuning Goals and Responding to Feedback

In Modules 1, 2, and 4, you will work on a Reflection Journal Entry. You will share your thoughts about the information in the module's required readings and how you have applied that information to your work at your field experience site.

Each journal entry should include answers to all of the questions listed in the instructions for that module. Your answers for each journal entry should also be supported with information from at least two peer-reviewed, academic references, using in-text citations and a reference list.

For this assignment, write a reflective journal entry report that includes the following:

What services does your site provide to its clients?

How would you describe the population of clients that your site serves?

Include information about any diversity-ethnic, racial, gender-based-in the client population, range of ages, socioeconomic status, and the primary issues those clients tend to have.

Identify the interventions that research indicates as the most effective interventions for the type of clients or issues your site is addressing.

Based on the information you have discovered in your research, what would you recommend your site do differently to better serve its clients? Cite at least two peer-reviewed, academic references to support your answer to this item.

What are your field experience responsibilities or typical daily tasks?

Which of those field experience responsibilities do you feel most prepared to complete with relative ease? Identify at least two.

Identify at least two skills and strengths you possess that prepared you well for those tasks.

Which of those field experience responsibilities do you feel least prepared to complete without close supervision or moderate assistance? Identify at least two.

Identify at least two skills or strengths you would need to gain to feel more competent and confident with those tasks.

List and describe at least two ways you can gain those skills or strengths.

Describe the feedback you have received so far from your field experience supervisor.

Include at least two examples of positive feedback your supervisor has given you and at least two examples of negative or constructive feedback.

Describe how you have responded to that feedback. If necessary, discuss how you might better respond to the feedback and how you plan to improve in response to any negative or constructive feedback you have received.

Be sure to support your statements with relevant examples and appropriate scholarly references.
