Assignment: Application: The Future of CRM

As technology advances at a breath-taking rate, connecting the world in new and exciting ways, it is no wonder that social-CRM is augmenting and oftentimes replacing traditional CRM strategies. With this increasingly digital world, the future of CRM depends on the consumers and marketing strategists of today. For this Assignment, you have the opportunity to introduce fresh ideas and original strategies to the world of marketing. What will be your "disruptive" approach to CRM?

The Assignment:

  • Choose a company/brand such as Starbucks, Ford Motor Company, Uber, or a different company/brand of interest to you.
  • Prepare a PowerPoint (10-slide minimum) on what your new "disruptive" approach might be to CRM for this company.
  • Explain how your apps and activity online will serve those that have CRM responsibilities within a company.
  • Explain how you would partner with existing customers.
  • Address why the company may not want to do this-in other words, address strengths and weaknesses of your ideas.
  • Develop strategies to foster customer advocacy.
  • How will this add profit? Will it take years or months to see the benefits? Either is acceptable-just be honest and thoughtful.

To prepare:

Review this week's Learning Resources.

  • Create a 10- to 15-slide PowerPoint presentation in which you do the following:
  • Assume the leadership of your chosen company has given you the assignment to be "disruptive" and creative in your approach to CRM. He or she wants you to come up with an idea never tried before. How would you try to persuade them to adopt this new CRM program? Create a 10- to 15-slide PowerPoint for a meeting with the executive team to sell your idea. Provide academic rigor to this presentation by presenting facts you have uncovered in your readings and research in this course.
  • Include a cover slide with your name on it and a reference slide. The font size should be no smaller than 18-point, and each slide must have at least 25 words on it (not including titles). Provide a title for and have visuals on every slide. Include a slide number in the lower left-hand corner. Use PowerPoint notes to document source information.
