After watching both films (essential...don't NOT DO THIS) and having read philosophical, historical, theoretical, and political treatments of the use of force, write a post that does 2 things. First, compare and contrast the American outpost at Restrepo to a similar (yet different) Danish NATO outpost also in Afghanistan. Second, use BOTH of these films to answer the question (AGAIN) WHY we fight? What makes these men fight the Taliban in Afghanistan? Institutions do matter here, the state matters, but it is clear that there are other motivators...especially when see actual soldiers in combat.
