1. How can you convince your employer (or future employer) to adopt sustainable business practices? Write a memo to the CEO or president of your company and persuade him or her, using the information you learned in Chapter 10.

How to write a Persuasive Memo:

1. Beginning: Open with discussion of company goals and introduce the idea of change. Describe succinctly, and in some detail, what you want the CEO to do.
2. Second paragraph:  Link company goals and strengths logically to proposed change. 
3. Third paragraph:  List convincing reasons. Build interest by providing benefits and trends in sustainability.
4. Fourth paragraph:  Reduce resistance by providing further evidence of effectiveness and availability of resources.  Anticipate his/her objections (e.g. not enough time, money or resources) and counter them.
5. Last paragraph: Allude to benefits again and close with specific action to be taken.
